Support
DKB employs a dedicated support team, encompassing a variety of skills, including qualified counselling and social work, with backgrounds in addiction and recovery.
The level and composition of support is tailored to the individual and dictated by their own unique circumstances. A support plan is created per individual detailing how their needs and aspirations will be met and delivered through keyworking sessions. Additionally we are in direct contact with external supporting agencies should the requirement for a specialist treatment be identified.
We are commited to a high quality of care, with an outstanding 80% success rate of 'move on' clients.
In parallel with accessing housing, counselling and support needs, service users can enjoy the benefits of a number of life skills workshops.Discussion
groups cover topics such as anger management, stress relief,
assertiveness, forgiveness, authority issues and even
interview
techniques. These help to encourage increased self-confidence,
communication skills and self-awareness.
Art, Cookery and basic I.T sessions are also available in house.
The relaxation group learns techniques for naturally combating stress and classes in budgeting skills are designed to prevent financial hardship becoming a source of that stress.
Seasonal recreational activities include kayaking, volleyball and beach barbecues while quiz nights, games evenings and day trips take place throughout the year.
